Lagos (AFP)Nigerian police have raided a baby factory in the oil city of Port Harcourt and arrested a woman accused of harbouring six pregnant girls, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
“We rescued six girls last week at different stages of pregnancy from an illegal maternity home in Port Harcourt,” Joy Elomoko of the Imo State police told AFP.
She said the youngest of the girls was 14, without disclosing the ages of the others.
“We have also arrested the proprietress of the clinic and she is assisting us in our investigation,” she said.
Elomoko said the raid on the Port Harcourt home followed the arrest of a girl with a baby in nearby Owerri on October 15.
“A lady was found in suspicious circumstances with a day old baby and after interrogation she confessed that she gave birth to a baby in Port Harcourt,” the police spokeswoman said.
Elomoko said police detectives followed the girl to Port Harcourt where six expectant mothers were found in a clinic run by a woman.
“The woman could not produce any document authorising her to operate the clinic and she was subsequently arrested,” she said.
She said the girls also told police that they were being kept in the home to make babies which would be sold to willing buyers.
Elomoko said the suspect would be taken to court after police investigation.
Nigerian police have uncovered a series of alleged baby factories in recent years, notably in the southeastern part of the country. Baby boys can sell for a price of around $250 (180 euros), baby girls for slightly less.
Human trafficking, including the selling of children, is the third most common crime in Nigeria behind fraud and drug trafficking, according to the United Nations
Nigeria is Africa’s biggest oil producer, but poverty is widespread across the country and most of the estimated 160 million people still live on less than two dollars a day.

Unlucky in love man CHOPS OFF own penis because he was fed up with not having a girlfriend

europics
Unlucky in love Yang Hu was so fed up with not having a girlfriend that he chopped off his own penis -because he had no real use for it.
The depressed 26-year-old believed there was no chance of ever finding a partner due to his long work hours.
So in desperation he cut off his penis in a bid to stop himself thinking about finding love.
Realising his mistake Yang CYCLED to hospital to get treatment only to be sent home by shocked doctors who told him to retrieve his severed penis so they could attempt to reattach it.
However, when he returned he had lost too much blood and so surgeons were unable to save it.
Yang's friends said that he had been increasingly depressed about the fact that since moving to the city he could not find a girlfriend.
They said that his long hours working in a clothing factory in Jiaxing, in Zhejiang province in east China, meant he he doubted he would ever have a chance to meet a woman.

Super Eagles Chief Coach Stephen Keshi: salaries unpaid by NFF
Super Eagles Chief Coach Stephen Keshi: salaries unpaid by NFF
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has said he is very disappointed he is owed more than seven months salary, describing it as his worst experience as the country’s coach.
Keshi is on a monthly salary of five million Naira (31,500 dollars/22,800 euros).
He led Nigeria to their third Africa Cup of Nations triumph in February and he is only a game away from qualifying the country for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The ‘Super Eagles’ won 2-1 in Ethiopia in a first leg playoff and will host the return match next month in Calabar.
Keshi is approaching two years at the helm of Nigeria and he told reporters that being owed salaries for many months has been his most disappointing experience as the coach of Nigeria.
“The lowest point of my career is working and not being paid for seven to eight months. I have never had this kind of experience before,” the former Nigeria captain said.
“In Mali, they will never owe you. Your salary will hit your account before the end of every month. It was the same thing in Togo.
“Owing me up to seven months makes me feel I am not being appreciated. It is like they, my employers, think I am being favoured in what I am doing.
“I am not being favoured. Whatever I am doing here, I am doing it with everything I have and I need to be respected to be given my pay.”
He added: “I don’t like discussing money issues and if there is any NFF (Nigeria Football Federation) member who said we can work for free, then I will want to speak with him face to face.
“If they say we can work for free and that they are not going to pay, so be it.
“I can’t have my family abroad and I will be in debt because I have not been paid for seven months and somebody is saying we should not complain.”
The NFF have said they are broke and have already been forced to slash the national team’s win bonus of $10,000 by half.

OUR MADAME CHOP MONEY,APC DEY VEX

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said President Goodluck Jonathan may become an accessory to corruption if he continues along his current path of shielding Aviation Minister Stella Oduah from the consequences of the massive corruption and abuse of office over the purchase of two armoured cars at an inflated cost and without following due process.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said it reached that conclusion after juxtaposing the evidence that have come out on the scandal against the actions so far taken by the President.
”It has now emerged that the money spent to purchase the armoured cars was not appropriated, which is a violation of the Nigerian Constitution; that due process was not followed in buying the cars, as the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has testified, and that the Minister – who was said to have approved the purchase – violated the law by approving an expenditure over the 100 million naira limit.
”These revelations make the Oduahgate a straightforward case that should have been summarily dealt with by the President. Instead, he has engaged himself in a rigmarole by setting up a diversionary administrative panel in what is now looking like an orchestrated ploy to buy time, hoping this issue will die down and the
Minister will escape being sanctioned.
”Unfortunately for Mr. President, Oduahgate is not just another scandal, but a referendum on his Administration’s fight against corruption, and on the legacy he intends to leave in this critical area,” it said.
•Stella Oduah : breached the rules
•Stella Oduah : breached the rules

APC also accused the President of thumbing his nose at Nigerians, who have expressed outrage at the action of the Minister, by approving for her to travel to Israel as part of his entourage.”No one believes the dummy that is being sold to the public, that the Minister was denied access to the President in Israel. The egregious act of putting the Minister on his entourage, at a time she is at the centre of a terrible scandal, calls to question the President’s sense of propriety and his commitment to the war against corruption.
”This indecorous action of making a Minister who is under investigation for monumental corruption and abuse of office one of the faces of Nigeria in a foreign land is an embarrassment to the country and its people, and a further dent on the poor image of the Jonathan Administration. We condemn it most whole-heartedly. We now understand why corruption has grown wings under the Jonathan Presidency, and why the Administration may well go down as the most corrupt in the country’s history,” the party said
It said through his body language, President Jonathan is sending a signal to his Ministers that it is alright to be corrupt, wondering whether the President is aware of the joke making the rounds that there are five Super Ministers in his cabinet whom he can neither sanction nor remove, irrespective of their actions, because they are the ones ferreting funds into his war chest for 2015. In other words,
any of his Ministers whom he perceives as key to his re-election can even loot Aso Rock and get away with it!
”We do not know whether this is true or not, but we do know there is no smoke without fire, and that the seeming attempt to sweep Oduahgate under the carpet lends some credence to the joke,” APC said.
The party noted that because of the President’s waffling in dealing with what is a straightforward case of corruption, misguided people have now resorted to crowd hiring to protest against the growing calls for the Minister to be sanctioned over the scandal – a very sad case since those being hired for such disgusting protests are the real victims of the mindless corruption that has permeated the land.
”These sponsored protests are just the beginning. Next, they will either engineer or hope that a spectacular violent attack, a la Boko Haram, will occur to take attention away from the scandal. They may also charge some out-of-luck folks to court over the scandal and then say they cannot act on the issue anymore because it is sub judice,” it said.
APC said, however, that the party as well as other concerned groups and citizens are closely following the developments on Oduahgate, and will not allow it to be swept under the carpet, in the interest of the millions of Nigerians who have been consigned into the lowest rung of existence by a rapacious administrati

Giving Up ,someone sent to me now

I’m 20, and my story isn’t really anything extreme.  But it was still bullying. I didn’t even really know until I got to high school. But I wish I had told someone.
I guess it all started when I was in 4th grade. My mom kind of sheltered me, so everything she didn’t want me to know, I learned at school. People would make fun of me, but I just kind of brushed it off. I never went back to that school. 5th grade was okay. I started at a new school and made friends.
Then came 6th grade. I had five friends in my entire 6th grade class. I was picked on just about every day. I tried to tell my mom, but she didn’t really believe me because the same kids who teased me were also nice to me. Really confusing.
Then came middle school. In 7th grade, a girl who I didn’t even know made a point to tell me I was ugly. Every day. I didn’t even know her. After a while, I started believing it. I had a small group of friends who would be considered the weird kids. For whatever reason, people just started calling me names and making fun of everything about me. That’s when my self-esteem when way down. That’s also when I started moving away from rap and listening to rock more. This probably added fuel to the fire.
Things went downhill from there. Fast forward to 10th grade. That was one of the worst years. I had gained weight, and my self esteem was at an all time low. I had invisible walls as high as the Empire state building, but it still didn’t help. Finally, I told my mom, but she wasn’t much help. That’s when I realized that if I can’t tell my mom, I couldn’t tell anyone. So I just kept it inside. After that year, I was still teased.  But I knew that I would be leaving in a couple of years, so I didn’t pay as much attention. Graduation day was the best day of my life. It felt like I was being released from prison.
Music and reading have helped me through.  After 10th grade year, I was at such a low point that I wanted to kill myself. I didn’t go as far as actually trying, but I just knew that I didn’t want to live anymore. 10th grade year was when I started getting more into heavy metal music. The screaming lyrics were the words I was too afraid to say. I wish I had told someone, because then maybe my high school years would have been a bit easier. My self-esteem was so low that I missed out on opportunities. I gained weight. And I wasn’t even overweight. But I had listened to the other people telling me I was. I didn’t really overeat. I just didn’t exercise. I also wish I had told my mom sooner. To the person or persons who read this, find an outlet. Don’t resort to suicide. Tell someone. I’m even here to listen. Things may seem bad now, but they will get better. I promise. Also, find a group of friends who like and love you for who you are. Those are true friends.
Just like one of my favorite bands, Sleeping with Sirens, says, “Don’t give up because you’re losing.” I’m still working on learning to keep my guard down and getting my self-esteem back up. I’ll always have trust issues, and I’m not sure that my self-esteem will be back to normal.  But I think back on my life, and am really glad I didn’t kill myself. YOU are loved. <3 Also, as another one of my favorite bands, Sick Puppies, says, “Hey, it’s gonna be okay.”
